The start of the 2013 Colorado legislative session two weeks ago was marked by several firsts, including more new lawmakers than ever before.
Among the 31 newcomers at the Capitol is state Rep. Justin Everett, R-Littleton, from House District 22. Everett defeated Democratic opponent Mary Parker by almost 10 percentage points in the newly redrawn district.
Everett said that, since winning election in November, it has been a crash course in both legislative procedures and researching all the issues that will come through his committees.
