He says decision was spurred by special election, not threatened recall

Littleton council member Randy Stein resigns

By Ramsey Scott

Littleton City Council member Randy Stein has resigned after less than a year and a half on the council.

In a weekend interview, Stein tied his resignation to results of the March 3 special election, when Littleton voters put restrictions on financing methods the city can use in urban renewal efforts.

Stein, a real estate developer and mediator whose district included downtown, said a threatened recall effort by the Historic Downtown Littleton Merchants was not a factor in his decision to step down.
