It’s unfortunate when people in the public eye don’t consider the consequences of the words they choose to make a point. It’s just as unfortunate when stupid comments and unfortunate choices drag on and detract from the real and important work we need from our public officials.

    Failure of 3A/3B will mean significant cuts

    Members of the Jeffco school board who referred the $39 million 3A mill and $99 million 3B bond to voters did exactly what the Colorado Constitution requires: They placed the funding decision for the quality of Jeffco schools in the hands of Jeffco citizens.  
    If voters do not pass the mill, the district will cut jobs and programs at all levels to balance its budget, including:

    For as long as I can remember, the Colorado state personnel system has been characterized as being overly bureaucratic and restrictive. This year, we have a chance to do something about it.

    I’m especially concerned about the closing down of the Rooney Road slash facilty. I understand the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office position, but from a big-picture perspective, it’s so counterintuitive!

We’re at no loss for commentary on Britney Spears’ X-Factor judging style, or endless analysis of LeBron James’ fourth-quarter playing style.
