The fact that the game came down to the wire was of little surprise. It was Columbine and Chatfield after all. But there’s something to be said for senior leadership. It’s something the Rebels have and Chatfield doesn’t.
Columbine broke a 54-all tie by hitting 8-of-10 free throws down the stretch for a 64-56 victory. It’s the Rebels’ first win over rival Chatfield since a 65-44 win on Feb. 17, 2012, snapping a four-game slide in the series. Keaton Matthies scored a game-high 21 points and Antonio Chavez added 15 for Columbine.
