COLORADO SPRINGS — A course as challenging as the Norris-Penrose Event Center can be trepidatious, especially for someone such as Dakota Ridge’s Cayli Hume, who has battled shin splints the past few years. But the third-time 5A state cross country qualifier found some motivation to combat the grueling course.
“This course is so tough. The only thing that gets you through it is running for your team. That’s all that got me through today,” Hume said.
