The Jeffco Sheriff's Office evacuated the Walgreens at the corner of West Bowles Avenue and South Kipling on Thursday afternoon after a customer threatened to blow up the store.

The store is now open.

"(Deputies) went inside and did a sweep of the store with the bomb dog," said sheriff's spokesman Mark Techmeyer. "They found nothing. Everybody's allowed back in the store."

The customer had been on the phone about 12:30 p.m. trying to reload a gift card and was having difficulty with the process, said Jeffco sheriff's Sgt. Dave Foley.

“He was trying to get a gift card reloaded. And when he couldn’t, he threatened to blow up the store,” Foley said.
