Brilliant Lights will be released in February 2023 •

Square Enix has announced the end of service for the Bravely Default: Brilliant Lights mobile game on February 28, 2023. Despite a promising start in Japan, the free-to-play push with the Bravely series is history after a little more one year. The debut was at the end of January 2022, there was never an English release, after all the story is still told to the end and the first anniversary is still celebrated. An offline version will also follow, allowing players to revisit the story and characters. Incidentally, the mobile game was intended to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the brand.

Many games have failed

In the past few months alone, Square Enix has unplugged several games. The most important case was certainly the case of Babylon from PlatinumGames. Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier also made headlines. Similarly, you put Chocobo GP in the files. Gate of Nightmares and Deep Insanity: Asylum should already be largely forgotten. These never made it to the West either.

characters meet

Bravely Default: Brilliant Lights is a single-player RPG with no character gacha, but there are also multiplayer elements. The story begins 5000 years after the death of the great alchemist, but the crystal light has not yet shone upon the lands. In the town of Brass, Claire, an apprentice alchemist, sees a luminous ball one night near ancient ruins. It is his responsibility to investigate this event. As usual, the characters of the series meet for the anniversary, but there are also newcomers. Of course, the gameplay around the Brave and Default commands also returns. The story is written by Keiichi Ajiro, who previously worked on Bravely Default and Second. In addition, there are also the usual Revo sounds. After all: in the future there will also be console offshoots of Bravely Default.
