A 61-year-old man was left seriously injured Thursday night after being the victim of a hit and run.

The man was walking his dog around 5:45 p.m. near 7052 West Glasgow Place, northwest of Ken Caryl Avenue and Pierce Street, when he was hit by an unknown vehicle, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

The vehicle didn’t stop and the man was found a short time later on the sidewalk. He was taken to the hospital in Littleton with what the state patrol described as serious injuries.

The name of the victim was not being released.

There was no description of the car available but the state patrol said it would most likely have front-end damage.
