The Trail of Lights at Chatfield Farms has been a longstanding tradition, but this year those looking for a bit of holiday cheer in South Jeffco can expect something new.
While the event, now called Santa’s Village, includes many of the popular lights from years past, it also has new, indoor interactive activities themed around the North Pole and Santa.
“We wanted to switch it up, try something new,” said Erin Bird, communications manager with Denver Botanic Gardens.
The new and improved holiday event includes live reindeer, crafts with Mrs. Claus, photos with the reindeer, a snowman and Santa Claus and a hayride to view the lights around Chatfield Farms. It also includes admission to Santa’s Cinema, a yurt featuring clips from popular holiday movies, and Santa’s Workshop, which includes various craft vendors.
Admission includes the hayride and other festive events. Holiday treats and hot beverages will be available for purchase.
Santa’s Village is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from now until Dec. 24, though Santa will not be there on Dec. 24. The event is open from 4:30-8:30 p.m. daily with last entry at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are free for children 2 and younger, $20 for adults and children age 3 to 15 and $15 for Denver Botanic Gardens members, seniors and military members. Tickets can be purchased in advance online, at the Chatfield Farms ticket booth on the day of the event or at the visitor center at both the York Street and Chatfield Farms locations during public business hours.
