Inter-Canyon Fire Protection District has canceled its May 8 election due to a lack of candidates.

No one submitted self-nomination forms or affidavits of intent to be a write-in candidate other than the three board members whose positions were up for re-election.

Leslie Caimi, Karl Firor and Kerry Prielipp will keep their positions on Inter-Canyon’s board of directors. Caimi and Firor are longtime board members and were re-elected in the 2014 election. Prielipp, on the other hand, was a newcomer in 2014 and beat incumbent board member Michael Reddy for a spot on the board.

All three board members will serve four-year terms.

Inter-Canyon Fire Protection District serves about 52 square miles primarily along U.S. 285 in Jefferson County, west of Ken-Caryl in Littleton and into Morrison and Conifer.
