Jeffco Sheriff’s Office investigating homicide in Morrison

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death at a Morrison residence as a homicide.

According a press release from the Jeffco Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a home in the 5200 block of Pintail Court in Morrison around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday after receiving reports of a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, they found an adult female who had been shot. The female, who was later pronounced dead at the scene, has not been identified pending notification of family.

Jerald Arthur Cross, the 64-year-old homeowner and person who called the Jeffco Sheriff’s Office to report the incident, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder and booked into the Jeffco jail. He is being held without bond.

The investigation is ongoing, though spokesman Mark Techmeyer said he's hopeful the Sheriff’s Office will be able to release more information soon.
