Yoga instructors Justin Kaliszewski and Megan Zamora are proud of their new studio in Old Town Littleton with a unique name: Outlaw Yoga. A welcoming space with soft green walls and polished wood floors, the yoga studio offers 30 classes a week, which include meditation and restorative yoga.

However, the trademark brand of yoga that Kaliszewski and Zamora teach is physically challenging and technically simple at the same time. And it’s a lot of fun, Kaliszewski said.

“We don’t take ourselves too seriously,” he said.

The kind of yoga instruction offered at the studio is more conducive to community and connectivity than traditional classes, Kaliszewski said.

“We spend time getting to know someone … . It’s not just another yoga studio,” he said. “We’re trying to creatively drive the industry.”

During classes, some of which feature live rock ‘n’ roll music, participants are encouraged to get out of their comfort zones, he said.

“Every class is beginner-friendly," Kaliszewski added. “It all starts with presence.”

The focus of the instruction is to motivate participants to challenge themselves while getting a good workout for body, mind and soul, he said.

He and Zamora have been teaching yoga for more than five years in area studios. After coming across an available space on Main Street in Littleton recently, Kaliszewski decided to open his own studio.

“Everything just fell into place,” he said.

Kaliszewski and Zamora are working in familiar territory. Kaliszewski is a graduate of Chatfield Senior High School, where he played basketball. And Zamora grew up in Lakewood.

Fees for classes at Outlaw Studio are $15 for drop-in participation and $88 per month for unlimited classes. Class hours range from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on most days.

Discounted rates are available for students. The studio is at 2590 W. Main St. across from The Tavern.

“Outlaw Yoga is a movement to bring yoga to the people, all people: young and old, short and tall, skinny and fat, veggie-loving vegans and carnivorous couch potatoes, hard-core bikers and hard-charging cyclists, gals and dudes, fighters and lovers, soldiers and tree huggers,” the Outlaw Yoga website states.
