Jeffco Public Schools is seeking to permanently fill principal positions this fall at both D’Evelyn Junior/Senior High School and Columbine High School after contracts for interim principals at both schools expire later this year.
Last spring, now-former principal Anthony Edwards resigned from his position at D’Evelyn after he was convicted in February of charges of harassment and third degree assault of his wife. Edwards was originally suspended by the school district after his November 2016 arrest on suspicion of domestic violence. Assistant principal Josh Griffin was appointed his interim replacement.
Columbine principal KC Somers resigned in October in order to take a position as a P-20 Learning Community Director with Aurora Public Schools. Columbine’s athletic director, Scott Christy, was appointed as Somers’ interim replacement.
According to spokeswoman Diana Wilson, both Griffin and Christy are eligible to apply for the permanent principal roles at both schools.
