Pokémon GO introduces new Pokémon forms and Las Vegas is the first •

Niantic and The Pokémon Company have announced new Pokémon forms for Pokémon GO. For the first time, Trainers will be able to experience the new Primal morph at the start of the Pokémon GO Tour in Las Vegas. This new mechanic is based on the Protomorph of the same name from Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. It’s similar to the Mega Evolutions already implemented in Pokémon GO. Primal Morphing is a phenomenon that uses natural energy to evolve Pokémon, giving them new forms, increasing their strength in battle, and more! At launch, this new Primal morph was seen in two Pokémon: Kyogre and Groudon from the Hoenn region. Gather Primal Energy and you can evolve both of these Pokemon through Primal Morphosis. The new form lasts eight hours. The more you perform Primal Morph on a Pokemon, the less Primal Energy it will need to do so. You can collect Primal Energy by defeating Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon in special raids or by completing certain research tasks. The raids begin with the start of the Hoenn Tour on February 18 in Las Vegas.
