Sony’s racing series turns 25 tomorrow –

On December 23, 1997, the engines roared for the first time with the release of Gran Turismo on PlayStation. This year, Gran Turismo 7 finally arrived on PlayStation 4. The history of the Sony console is also the history of Gran Turismo. PlayStation Blog has a personal message from Kazunori Yamauchi, president of Polyphony Digital and creator of Gran Turismo, to celebrate the anniversary. He looks back on his childhood and how it all started: Polyphony Digital now has over 200 employees and Gran Turismo has sold over 90 million copies. “The ‘pursuit of beauty’ is the motivation behind the development of Gran Turismo,” said Yamauchi. Thanks also to all the players, and above all, I can’t thank the GT users and the people of the GT community enough for playing our new titles, which could sometimes be described as very experimental. We are here today thanks to all the people who have supported us. What are your experiences with 25 years of Gran Turismo?
