A two-vehicle accident near Lookout Mountain shut down westbound Interstate 70 on Tuesday afternoon.

Colorado State Patrol received a call about the accident, which involved a 2006 Toyota SUV and a 2012 Peterbilt semi-truck, around 3 p.m., according to Trooper Josh Lewis with CSP. All three lanes of westbound I-70 at mile marker 256 were closed, but officials reopened two of the lanes about an hour after the accident.

As of 4:30 p.m., one lane remains closed.

According to reports, there is no indication of what caused the accident.

“Right now, we just have it as multiple vehicles, but nothing as to what happened,” Lewis said.

The driver of the Toyota, a 16-year-old male, had minor injuries but wasn’t transported to the hospital, while the driver of the semi, a 54-year-old male from Kansas, was uninjured in the accident.
