Despite the fact that we watch repeated reruns on television screens during Christmas, cult films are among the most watched even years later. This will not be the case on the Slovak television program this year either…

TV Markíza: Perinbaba, Fantastic Beasts and Their Heights and Mrázik

These days you can already find several holiday titles on TV Markíza screens, which we look forward to every year around this time. Of course, the greatest hits will be played during the Christmas holidays. Photo Diva.sk What do the actors of the legendary Christmas hit Home Alone look like today? It’s time for a movie that never… On Christmas Day we can expect a movie from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, namely the first part of the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them series, which will be broadcast at 10:45. The 2016 film was also a huge hit in Slovakia, with a total budget of around $180 million, it grossed over $800 million in theaters. On 24.12 we can also expect the legendary Perinbaba, which we can already watch at 5 p.m. The 1985 fairy tale is one of the most popular Slovak films and is still a big hit with all generations. Director Juraj Jakubisko therefore decided years later to film a sequel, which is set to hit theaters in 2023. However, the exact premiere date is still unknown and has been postponed several times due to the pandemic. However, it’s worth noting that the film’s soundtrack was one of the last songs that Meky Žbirka sang before his death. One could wonder if the legendary Mrázik would appear on the screens this year, but TV Markíza, despite the military conflict between Ukraine and Russia, will put it on the most lucrative holiday time, 24.12 at 7:00 p.m. The 1964 Russian fairy tale was met with only lukewarm reception upon its release and only gained popularity over time. Do you remember the film Kiss Bozk by Natalie Sedych, which played Nastenka and her movie hero Ivan. who was played by Eduard Izotov? For the Russian actress, it was the first kiss of her life. In the USA. this movie was only released in the 1990s as Father Frost, but it was not successful at all and was called the worst movie of all time. In the following days we will also see the films Proud Princess, Devils and Princess with a Golden Star on TV Markíza screens. The 2021 Czech Christmas romantic comedy A Wish for Jesus is already looking forward to its Slovak TV premiere on 25.12 at 8.30 p.m. Viewers often compare this film to the Hollywood hit Láska nebeská from 2003. Richard Krajčo, Jaroslav Dušek, Eva Holubová, Jiří Langmajer, Elizaveta Maximova or Anna Polívková.

YOG TV: Three new nuts for Cinderella, Home Alone and Grinch

Three Nuts for Cinderella is consistently among the most-watched films of the year. These have been aired by TV JOJ for the past few years, but this year they will show a brand new version of them on screens. The 1973 Christmas tale is also hugely popular in Norway, where it received a new adaptation last year. The modern version of the legendary Cinderella story will be broadcast by TV Joj from Thursday 22.12 at 8.35 p.m. it will also air in prime time and then rebroadcast directly on Christmas Day. Sequel to Home Alone 2: Lost in New York TV YOG will also be included in the Christmas program at 8:00 p.m. The little ones will enjoy the animated film Ice Age: Mammoth Crash on screens at 3:15 p.m. at 4:40 p.m. After a year, last year’s animated hit Grinch, which succeeded in 2021 with a 24.5% share in the commercial target, will also be released. However, the most anticipated film on YOG TV screens will be her first fairy tale, which she shot with Czech television after the title Krakonošovo taojstvo. Besides the Czech actors, Martin Huba, Diana Mórová and Dominika Morávková will also appear in front of the camera. It will be broadcast on Sunday 25.12 at 8.30 p.m., followed by the horror comedy Krampus: Go to the devil!

RTVS: Legendary Cinderella, Love on a String with Celeste Buckingham and the new movie Horse

This year, after many years, RTVS acquired the biggest TV channel in its broadcast. Classic version of Three Nuts for Cinderella. In the past, Unity last aired it in the 1990s. This year, RTVS will air it on Christmas Eve at 7:00 p.m. In addition, on 24.12 at 1:00 p.m. it will broadcast Láska na vlasku from 2014, where singer Celeste Buckingham played the main role. At the end of the festive day at 9.45 p.m., RTVS will premiere the new Slovak film Kôň. During the Christmas holidays, we can also expect classics like Once Upon a Time, or Vesničko má středisková, which RTVS will broadcast on Tuesday, December 27. Traditionally, RTVS airs a new fairy tale every year, otherwise it won’t be the same this Christmas either. The new Christmas fairy tale will also not be missing from the RTVS broadcast this year. Public television will premiere the film The Haunted Cave, which was only in theaters this summer. Director Mariana Čengel Solčanská is behind the new fairy tale, she also filmed the aforementioned fairy tale Love by a Thread. Unity will bring this story to our living rooms on Sunday, December 25 at 8:30 p.m.
